How Caroline Nolder and Aline Rideau created Tea-Potes - a quirky Salon de The and Livres Occasion in the heart of Anduze ...
|
|
A night with friends, lubricated by glasses of wine, started us thinking about the creation of an English tearoom in nearby Anduze. In the cold light of day, the idea of selling English books seemed to be a worthwhile addition to the teashop.
And so the venture was launched ! |

One year later, we knew what was needed but seemed to have exhausted ideas. We had found places in Anduze we didn't know existed, premises still showing flood damage, but none of them were exactly right. Early this year, the Mairie suggested we look at a commercial premises in Place Notre Dame. |
The building was charming, the lease was expiring shortly, and it fitted our needs exactly. A bonus was that we found the landlord to be "sympa" to us, the project and the building. |

After a lot of work the building was ready for opening by July 2010, with painting and tiling, installation of kitchen and book shelves being the final tasks.
"Our intention is to create an environment where both French and English people can find books and relax over tea and cakes. We have ideas for various future special events, so stand by for more information" said Caroline.
