Languedoc is bordered on the East by the river Rhone. It is close to the major Fos-Marseille port complex.
Within Languedoc itself, the harbors of Sete, Port la Nouvelle and Port Vendres provide access to Languedoc.
Sete, the No 2 Mediteranean French harbour, handles a wide range of goods. There are regular container services to the US Eastern ports (13 day voyage) as well as a ferry service to Morocco.
Port la Nouvelle is the No 3 Mediterranean French harbour.
Port Vendres has a specialised fruit and vegetable complex allowing movements between Languedoc and North Africa.
