Nice idea LC, no Te Kahu but I do have some bottles of the finest Chardonnay ever made in New Zealand - Neudorf Moutere 2004.

Might save it for the final though. We're reaching those stages where the All Blacks have choked before. Are Wales the one to do it?

I thought the Boks were refereed out of that match. Very dodgy penalty decision.

Looking forward to this morning's match. I have a feeling Wales will play with far more passion and disciplne than England did last week. Whether France play well is anyone's guess, they are so variable.

Sure, but they just about scraped a win despite having a one player advantage for most of the game. We spent the last fifteen minutes hurling advice (abuse?) at the TV.

Only consolation is that Les Bleus seem to play good and bad games alternately. So next time out they should be on top form.

The All Blacks won by an impressive 20 to 6 over the Wallabies,
Very tight discipline by the All Blacks!

I am sure there is plenty of celebrations today at a house in Trouilles, Drink in victory today Jonathan, next week may be defeat.

I thought les Bleus might pull something off next Sunday BEFORE I watched the match this morning. It just served to remind me how good the Kiwis are.

Any chance we could get all the good people at Lourdes to pray for another miracle. How about a deranged ref giving half the All Blacks team red cards?

Yes, I think France has had two lucky breaks but I forsee their good fortune running out next Sunday. This is an All Black squad that is more about winning and determination than flair. The game against Australia wasn't pretty but the ABs dominated the game in almost every respect.

It would be good to see an AB thrashing of the French, I think.

Football ain't my bag. But a friend has just told me that in the 1999(?) World Cup the French got to the finals where they faced Brazil. The general opinion was that they would get a good pasting. But, in fact, they won against all the odds.

Reading Le Fig today it said that Lievremont was a Catalan. Is that correct or did I get it round my neck?

Genghis Cohen

PS Don't know whether to watch the match on Sunday at the cafe or to stay home.

1998.

And that's true they played a blinding match against the Brazilians.

Lievremont was actually born in somewhere like Senegal (I think!) but grew up in Argeles.

I'm looking forward to the match. Part of me would love to see the AB's win, purely because they haven't for ages and because my son in law is a Kiwi / Samoan, but I'd also love to see France win as it is now my home.

Either way, I just hope that both teams play a good match and that the result isn't decided by dodgy refereeing decisions.

Actually it was 1998 and France won 3-0.

I was in this restaurant - http://www.lyckornabrygga.se - with my French wife. Surprisingly, there was also a Brazilian girl watching the match !

Oy, football fans - get your own thread!

Great match this morning. We had a pretty diverse group round to watch it, with about half the room cheering for each side. I had predicted a close game with 1 or 2 points in it.

I thought France played out of their skins and my man of the match would be Rougerie. However, this All Black team was stronger, even if they did not play that lovely flowing game we like to watch. It just proves they can win at rucking and kicking for territory too. It was won by that soft try in the first half.

We celebrated first with a bottle of Jacquart Rosé Champagne (for the losers) followed by a Dry River late harvest Riesling for the winners. Top stuff.
