Oh, I think the Wales-Ireland game was the better match from a pure Rugby point of view. I thought England played pretty poorly for most of the game and I don't think either of those two would stand a chance against Aus or SA.

Sure, but they just about scraped a win despite having a one player advantage for most of the game. We spent the last fifteen minutes hurling advice (abuse?) at the TV.

Only consolation is that Les Bleus seem to play good and bad games alternately. So next time out they should be on top form.

Yes, I think France has had two lucky breaks but I forsee their good fortune running out next Sunday. This is an All Black squad that is more about winning and determination than flair. The game against Australia wasn't pretty but the ABs dominated the game in almost every respect.

Football ain't my bag. But a friend has just told me that in the 1999(?) World Cup the French got to the finals where they faced Brazil. The general opinion was that they would get a good pasting. But, in fact, they won against all the odds.

Reading Le Fig today it said that Lievremont was a Catalan. Is that correct or did I get it round my neck?

And that's true they played a blinding match against the Brazilians.

Lievremont was actually born in somewhere like Senegal (I think!) but grew up in Argeles.

I'm looking forward to the match. Part of me would love to see the AB's win, purely because they haven't for ages and because my son in law is a Kiwi / Samoan, but I'd also love to see France win as it is now my home.

Either way, I just hope that both teams play a good match and that the result isn't decided by dodgy refereeing decisions.

Actually it was 1998 and France won 3-0.

I was in this restaurant - http://www.lyckornabrygga.se - with my French wife. Surprisingly, there was also a Brazilian girl watching the match !
