I've managed to arrange our picking days so that we can watch the ABs v. France tomorrow. Should be a cracker.

Lucky you! I shall have to watch the newsfeed on the computer whilst partner, daughter and son in law all watch the match at home :( :(

That's the beauty of being your own boss

All set for tomorrow.

I'll watch AB v France on ITV HD. Not quite the same ambiance as French TV for this particular match but a much better quality picture.

French defence doesn't seem to be able to move fast enough for those All Blacks.

I can't see NZ losing this match now.

I've just seen something good about the oval ball game!

The opening graphics and music at the start of ITV's coverage - very good!

.... then they spoilt it by showing some of the games.

After the match with Tonga the French team might as well pack their bags and creep back home. They've lost the plot! Even if they have scraped throught to the play-offs

But they are drawn against another team who seem to be struggling to play convincingly at the moment.

Quarter finals approach.

Quarter-final One: 8 October
Ireland v Wales
(0600 BST)

Quarter-final Two: 8 October
England v France
(0830 BST)

Quarter-final Three: 9 October
South Africa v Australia
(0600 BST)

Quarter-final Four: 9 October
New Zealand v Argentina
(0830 BST

France v England - one is my home of choice one is my home by birth. Looks like I'm onto a winner for this match at least  Let's hope that at least one of them actually manages to play a decent game of rugby this time in place of the crap that they have been playing! Both teams should consider themselves fortunate not to have had Samoa in their group otherwise it may have been a different story.

A pity that Wales and Ireland are playing each other - should be an exciting match though. SA v Aus and NZ v Argentina are also mouth watering prospects. Again, it's a pity that Argentina are up against the All Blacks. Should be a good weekend of rugby - that and Japanese GP on Sunday and this girl's in heaven!

Yes, I'm trying very hard to encourage my wines to avoid requiring pressing over the weekend  Really looking forward to the games.

Do as I do. I tell everyone that I'm English by birth and live in France by choice so I win every time!

France and England through to the semi's

Postby Las-Cobas » Sat Oct 08, 2011 10:47 am

Wales were a better team against Ireland 22 10

And France kept up the pressure against England 19 12

Both good matches

Oh, I think the Wales-Ireland game was the better match from a pure Rugby point of view. I thought England played pretty poorly for most of the game and I don't think either of those two would stand a chance against Aus or SA.

Anyway, I'm reverting to being an All Black supporter for the rest of the competition.

That was a shame for South Africa. It would have been a nice story had they won - and up until the end it looked as if they might.

Argentina played a really good game too - they should be proud of their effort.

Semi finals now - Wales v France and Aus v NZ

Tasty!

How will Jonathan will be celebrating the win?

Maybe a tender NZ roast lamb washed down with a few bottles of the excellent Craggy Range Te Kahu Hawkes Bay Merlot .

What a way to celebrate a Good Team, Good Food and a Good NZ Wine.

:D :D :D

Nice idea LC, no Te Kahu but I do have some bottles of the finest Chardonnay ever made in New Zealand - Neudorf Moutere 2004.

Might save it for the final though. We're reaching those stages where the All Blacks have choked before. Are Wales the one to do it?

I thought the Boks were refereed out of that match. Very dodgy penalty decision.

Looking forward to this morning's match. I have a feeling Wales will play with far more passion and disciplne than England did last week. Whether France play well is anyone's guess, they are so variable.

Sure, but they just about scraped a win despite having a one player advantage for most of the game. We spent the last fifteen minutes hurling advice (abuse?) at the TV.

Only consolation is that Les Bleus seem to play good and bad games alternately. So next time out they should be on top form.
