Living in Homps

Postby salisbury » Sun Jan 03, 2016 10:02 am

We have decided that Homps looks like a decent place to have a look at with a view to settling, the proximity of the canal being a big plus.
For me a good multi national expat community would be a plus does it exist?

Hello,

We've just bought in Azille, only a few minutes' drive away. The area has many expats from what I could gather in my two visits (Brits, Americans, Australians, etc, though many might be holiday makers), so I'm sure there are a few permanent ones in Homps too. Wouldn't surprise me. It's nice along the canal there, and you have the lovely Lac de Jouarres in walking distance for swimming or wind surfing.

Through Google I've come across websites that mentioned gatherings in the area, and there is an English church service in one of the towns as well. Can't remember where and which, though, as I forgot to bookmark them. I would check out the Mairie website to see what's going on throughout the year.

I only visited in the autumn and at Christmas, so I don't know what it'll be like in the summer - I guess, heaving! 8)

Good luck!
S & L in Azille :-)
