Slight thread-creep, but related to topic.
If I wish to stream content from say Netflix or Amazon legally in France, (a) is it possible and (b) what sort of equipment would I need?

My understanding is that 'Streaming' is legal in France whereas 'Downloading' may not be. Whether owning an Android Box with XBMC etc installed or those supplied by the likes of ukexpat tv , MoochieTV etc. is legal is unclear.... the arrest in the UK were for Supplying.

Thanks, Montgolfiere, I'm a novice at this stuff so please bear with me, would an Android media player with XBMC be able to show programmes from Netflix etc even though I'm in France?

You need a VPN and then watch via a Computer Laptop etc. eventually linked to a TV via HDMi.... The Android would be difficult or even impossible. Dont have info for Apple devices.

Thanks, I guess the problem lies in being in France rather than the UK.
Pity, I didn't really want to buy another laptop and I thought a media player might do the job with a bit more versatility.

Oh well, back to the drawing board
