BBC4 lost

Postby Brian and Helen » Sun Jun 28, 2015 8:27 am

I've recently lost BBC4 HD (Freesat channel 107). Message says "weak or non-existent signal". All other HD channels normal.
Standard BBC4 (channel 148) is also fine.

Has anybody else suffered this, or do you have any ideas?

there have been some channel moves between 2f 2g and2e lately... resulting in lower signals for some of the Channels... especially those moved to 2g. These include the Channel Five Stable and others that were on 2f....
BBC 4 SD has been ok watched 'Cordon' yesterday evening..... but as we do not 'do' HD chez moi, i am not sure about the BBC4 HD Stream.....if it has also moved. But Generally the advent of 2g has not helped things in our region...

Yes, it was Cordon which brought the matter to a head. I then realised that there had been issues with the channel for the last two or three days.
We just normally watched HD, because it's number (107) is close to the other main channels - we didn't even realise that there was an SD version "down there" where no-one ever goes! We could get Cordon Ok on SD (when we discovered it) but by then it was halfway through episode 2, so that's that gone for a burton.

Do you think this is likely to be permanent, Montgolfiere, or liable to future change?

It may be some time before we can tell how things will Pan out. If the patterns of the past 2 years follow then better reception will be expected at the least from September thru 'til April with reception over the next couple of months being 'patchy'.
