Reassessment local taxes question

Postby anneb » Fri Aug 19, 2016 9:24 am

Does anyone know how to go about getting their taxes foncières and habitation reassessed, ie reduced ? Ours must have been assessed minimum thirty years ago and possibly far longer than that, and year on year they have steadily increased. The area of town where the house is has gone downhill hugely the last 10 years or so, several nearby houses fallen down and other problems. The taxes in Clermont are very high considering all these things, actually the taxes on our two bedroomed house there are almost as high as the council tax on our three bedroomed house with garden in Surrey on outskirts of London !

Hi

My first port of call would be the Mairie. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Hope that helps.
