Virgin Megastore have announced they will close 2/3 of their French outlets and Montpellier is scheduled to close.

Discussions continue with the unions regarding redundancy packages.

Without any inside knowledge one could speculate that music downloads have reduced the requirement for physical outlets.

I'm astonished they've lasted as long as they have, actually. They seemed to have a pretty crappy selection of just about everything they sold, not just music.
