Have a very Merry Christmas
From 1st January we will be launching 'a suspended coffee'. This is an idea which comes from Naples where the 'caffè sospeso' has existed for a hundred years. The idea is that when you buy your coffee you pay for two and leave one 'suspended' for someone else. There will be a box near the till for you to leave your donation.

Saturday 7th March 15h00 Margaret Early will be presenting a film called "La Petite Morphise". Marie-Louis O'Morphy was her name. An exquisite beauty, she beguiled three famous 18th century Parisians: notorious lothario Giacomo Casanova, who discovered her; France's leading artist François Boucher, whose sensual nude immortalised her, and a bedazzled Louis XV, whose mistress she became, bearing him a royal daughter.
Over two centuries later, Boucher's celebrated nude has undergone a metamorphosis to become Michael Farrell's controversial modern masterpiece Madonna Irlanda, a vibrant symbol of Ireland's turbulent history..

Friday 20th March 15h00 Lively Ladies Knitting Club

Saturday 21st March 15h00 Adam Thorpe will be at Tea Potes to present his new book : Silbury Hill. Silbury Hill in Wiltshire is Europe's largest prehistoric mound, and has inspired and perplexed people for generations. It was never a burial mound, so what was it built for, almost five thousand years ago? The hill has been part of Adam Thorpe's own life since his schooldays at Marlborough, which he would escape in the surrounding downlands. He has carried Silbury ever since, through his teenage years in Cameroon, into his adulthood in southern England and France: its presence fused to each landscape which became his home. On Silbury Hill (Little Toller Books) is Adam Thorpe's own projection onto Silbury's grassy slopes. It is a chalkland memoir told in fragments and family snapshots, skilfully built, layer on layer, from Britain's ancient and modern past. BBC Radio 4's Book of the Week in August 2014, longlisted for the Wainwright Prize 2015.
Saturday 28th March 15h00 - 16h30 Quiz Club with Henry Outfin
