I have to go the CHU La Peyronne friday 27th November. I will be coming from Perpignan via the A9 from and exiting at the tuning after the Tolls. Are there any road works or diversions I should be aware of, so I can leave extra early and avoid getting lost too! _________________

Apart from the impossibility of parking anywhere in MTP, including the CHU, there are also road works everywhere.
You'd do best to exit the autoroute at St Jean de Védas, leave your car at the St-J-d-V terminus of the Flowery tramway (ligne 2), change at La Gare SNCF for the blue tramway (ligne 1) going towards La Mosson, which stops just opposite Lapeyronie. The car park fee might even include tramway tickets for all occupants of the car (at least the car park at La Mosson terminus does this).
And somewhat off-topic, but following on another old thread concerning the road-works at Gignac, the notice now says that the works will be finished by été 2010! |

Thanks for that.
I may just get the tram, I can offset it with the parking and charge it to CPAM along with my fuel used, as my daughter is ALD;
Works out a lot cheaper than the taxi I am allowed to get...................that bill costs them best part of 600 euros! _________________

I checked on the TAM website - the car park is at the "St Jean le Sec" stop (presume it's sign-posted from the autoroute exit), and includes free return tickets for all occupants. I should count a good hour from St Jean to Lapeyronie, and extra to find the right department.... |

Thanks, I have seen the tramway as I exit the autoroute, and have used the tramway once before but from the hospital to go to the Gare, so just reverse order, and a matter of remembering which tram I came on from the parking
I know exactly where I am going in the hospital, so no problems there , thanks. _________________

After wondering if i was going to get stuck in roadworks etc , the trip was a breeze!
I went up the A9 as far Sigean and then got on the Autoroute, both were very quiet and I took my usual exit just after the peage; Montpellier was also void of traffic, we arrived at the hospital half an hour early.There were plenty of free spaces in the car park, updated my carte Vitale and went to the clinic. How weired, no queue at the caisse and streight round to the waiting area........................which was also empty. The nurse came and installed us in the Doctors room and in response to my comment of how quiet it was, she said there had been a few cancellation and a few no shows, I wonder if it was to do with the H1N1?
Anyway saw the doctor and Proff, and were back at the car park in half an hour; quiet roads all the way back.
No worries untill the next trip in June _________________
